Netarhat Residential School (हिन्दी: नेतरहाट आवासीय विद्यालय) is a school in Netarhat, India. The school has a record of producing toppers of the Bihar School Examination Board year after year. After the creation of the state of Jharkhand in 2000, it came under the purview of Jharkhand Board. The students have dominated the Regional Mathematics Olympiad and National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). Students participate in inter-house and inter-set competitions and inter-school competitions. ==History== Netarhat Residential School was established on 15 November 1954, after the independence of India for the people of state of Bihar.It was a dream of the first Chief Minister of Bihar, Krishna Singh and his deputy chief minister and finance minister Anugraha Narayan Sinha to establish a centre of excellence.〔http://www.narendrabhagat.in/2011/10/04/hail-hail-netarhat-school/〕 The educationist Frederick Gordon Pearce, Jagadish Chandra Mathur and Sachidanand Sinha played a vital role in making the plans for the School (or Netarhat ''Vidyalaya''). Pearce has received kudos from Rajendra Prasad, then the President of India for his works.〔()〕
